If you’re looking for Terry Pierce, NFL player, I’m sorry but you’ll need to keep searching. While I can certainly appreciate a good play-action-pass, I’ve never played football in my life. Though I have baked plenty of cookies for my son’s football teams. 

In fact, I wish I could bake us up a batch of my most excellent chocolate chip cookies so we could munch cookies and read a good book together, because that is where my true passion lies—with books! I love reading all kinds of books. And I especially love writing books.

Terry's Event Calendar

Spring 2012 - I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be teaching an online course offered through UCLA Extension Writers' Program, "Introduction to Writing Easy Readers."  The goal of this course is to finish a strong draft of an easy reader. I am SO excited to teach this course! The Easy Reader genre is THE most important genre of children's books, because it is the one that sets a child onto the path of independent reading. Folks, this is where we either hook kids as readers or let them get away!

Summer 2011 - I've recently completed an amazing journey and graduated from the Vermont College of Fine Arts Master's in Writing for Children and Young Adults Program, including the Picture Book Concentration certification.

The California Readers (www.californiareaders.org) has named Blackberry Banquet to the 2010 California Collections list.
